Which betting prediction apps are worth a place on your phone?

You’re about to bet on tonight’s match and you’d like a second opinion on your phone, without paying a tipster or reading ten tabs of form. That’s the job of the apps below: the best betting prediction apps I could find for picks, probabilities and match stats, sorted by one score out of 10.

You’ll find three kinds of app here. Pick apps such as Forebet, BetMines and OLBG give you a tip or a probability for each match. US-facing apps such as Action Network, BetQL and Rithmm mix odds, models and bet tracking for American sports. And score apps such as Flashscore, Sofascore and FotMob don’t predict anything, but their stats are what a sensible bet is built on.

Scores use five criteria today: transparency, coverage, ease of use, price and support. Accuracy joins once pick tracking is running. The weights are in the review methodology. For now every number is a desk-research score: I’ve read what each app publishes about itself, its store listing and its pricing. I haven’t installed or tested them. Hands-on reviews are planned, and scores will move when they’re done.

Want a narrower list? Try the free betting tips apps, the AI betting prediction apps, or the lists for iPhone and Android. If you’re wondering what’s going on inside these things, read how betting prediction apps work and why hit rate is misleading.

No app can make betting safe. Set a budget first, using the bankroll management guide if you need one. 18+.

Betting prediction apps: common questions

  • What is the best betting prediction app?

The list on this page is sorted by score, so the app in first place is the current answer. Every score is provisional: it comes from desk research, no app has had a hands-on review yet, and the order can change when that happens.

  • Are betting prediction apps accurate?

Some are useful, none are reliable enough to bet blindly. A decent model will read a match better than a casual guess, but bookmakers run models too, and their margin eats most of any edge. Judge an app by whether it shows a full record with the losses in, and compare its picks to the odds, never to a win percentage alone.

  • Are free betting tips apps any good?

Often, yes. Several of the highest-scoring apps here are free or have a usable free tier, paid for by ads. What you usually give up is detail: fewer leagues, fewer picks a day, or stats locked behind a subscription. Try the free version for a few weeks before paying for anything.

  • Do AI betting apps really work?

AI in these apps usually means a statistical model trained on past results. It's quicker and more consistent than a person, and it doesn't get emotional about its team. It also can't know about a late injury or a dressing-room row. Treat an AI pick as a well-informed starting point, not as an answer.

  • Can I place bets inside a prediction app?

Usually not. Prediction apps give you picks and stats, and you place the bet yourself with a licensed bookmaker. Some US apps, such as Action Network, also track the bets you place. If an app pushes you hard towards one bookmaker, remember it's probably being paid for that.

  • Are betting prediction apps legal?

Reading predictions is legal almost everywhere, because the app isn't taking your bet. What matters is whether betting itself is legal where you live and whether the bookmaker you use is licensed there. Apple and Google only allow real-money gambling apps in countries where they're licensed, and developers choose which countries' stores carry their apps, so some apps won't show up in yours.

  • How do you rank the apps on this list?

Every app gets one score out of 10, and the list is sorted by it. Scores use five criteria today: transparency, coverage, ease of use, price and support. Accuracy joins once pick tracking is running. Nobody can pay to move up. The methodology page has the weights.
