Which football prediction app should you use?

The app stores are full of lookalike tips apps. This page cuts that down to the best football prediction apps listed on this site, ranked, each with what’s wrong with it as well as what’s right.

The ranked apps fall into four groups. Daily-pick apps such as BetGPT, PRO Betting Tips, WIN Betting Tips and Daily Football Betting Tips hand you a short list of picks each day; three of the four say they use AI. Model-driven apps such as Forebet turn statistics into a probability for each match. Community apps such as OLBG let you follow tipsters whose records are tracked. And companion apps such as FotMob, Sofascore and Flashscore give no tips at all, just line-ups, form and xG (expected goals), which is often what you really need.

What matters when I rank a soccer tips app: whether it shows a record you can check, losses included; how many leagues and markets it covers; how clearly it explains a pick; what sits behind the paywall; and how hard it pushes you towards a bookmaker. Scores use five criteria today: transparency, coverage, ease of use, price and support. Accuracy joins once pick tracking is running. The methodology has the weights. One caveat: I’ve scored these apps from desk research, no hands-on review has been done yet, and the numbers are provisional until one has.

If you’re new to this, read how prediction apps work and why hit-rate is misleading before trusting any percentage. Prefer a bigger screen? See football prediction sites, or go back to the football hub. 18+.

Football prediction apps: common questions

  • What is the best app for football predictions?

It depends on what you want from it. If you want a short daily list of picks, a tips app fits. If you want probabilities for every match, a model-based app such as Forebet is closer. If you prefer to decide yourself, a stats and live-score app may serve you better than any tipster. The ranking on this page scores all of these kinds.

  • Are football prediction apps free?

Many have a free tier, and a few are fully free with adverts. The common pattern is free daily picks with extra markets, filters or alerts behind a subscription. Check the price inside the app store listing before you subscribe, and remember that paying for tips doesn't make the tips any more likely to win.

  • How do football prediction apps make their picks?

Three ways, broadly. Statistical models turn past results, goals and sometimes xG (expected goals) into probabilities. AI apps do the same with machine learning. Community apps collect tips from users and rank the tipsters by record. A good app tells you which method it uses; be cautious with those that won't.

  • Can a prediction app make me money?

Don't plan on it. Bookmakers build a margin into every price, so you need to be right more often than the odds imply, over hundreds of bets, to come out ahead. Apps can save you research time and point you to matches worth a look. They can't remove the house edge or the luck in a low-scoring sport.

  • Are live-score apps useful for betting?

Yes, as research tools. Apps such as FotMob and Sofascore don't give tips, but they show line-ups, form, player ratings and xG in a few taps, which is what you need to sanity-check someone else's pick. I list them here because many bettors are better served by good information than by another tipster.
