Which NFL prediction app should you try?

NFL help on a phone comes in two shapes: tools that show you numbers and news, and services that hand you a pick. The best NFL prediction apps listed here lean towards the first kind, and nearly all of them are built for the US market.

Action Network is the all-rounder: odds, bet tracking and expert picks, with the sharper data in its PRO tier. BetQL rates bets with a model and shows line movement and public betting splits; most of its picks sit behind a subscription. Rithmm takes another route and lets you build your own AI model without code, then shows where it disagrees with the line; it’s paid after a trial. theScore is a North American scores and news app with odds on every game. Sofascore and 365Scores cover the league as part of wider live-score apps.

What I weigh for an NFL app isn’t the same as for soccer. The season is short, so an app’s track record means less and its tools mean more. Does it compare lines across sportsbooks? Half a point around the key numbers 3 and 7 matters. How quickly does injury news arrive, how openly does it explain a pick, what’s paywalled, and what does a full season cost? Scores use five criteria today: transparency, coverage, ease of use, price and support. Accuracy joins once pick tracking is running. The details are in the methodology. Every number on this page comes from desk research: I haven’t reviewed any of these apps hands-on yet, so read the order as provisional.

For deeper research, the NFL prediction sites list has the stats heavyweights. If you’d rather listen than read, try NFL betting podcasts. And how prediction apps work explains what a model can and can’t know. The NFL betting guide covers the markets. 21+ in most US states.

NFL prediction apps: common questions

  • What is the best NFL picks app?

For most US bettors, Action Network covers the most ground: odds, bet tracking and expert picks in one app, with the sharper data in the paid PRO tier. It also has the highest score on this list. BetQL suits you if you like model ratings and line movement. If you only want scores, news and odds on every game, theScore does that for free.

  • Are NFL prediction apps free?

The scores apps are free. The picks apps usually give you a taste and charge for the rest: BetQL locks most picks behind a subscription, and Rithmm is paid after a trial. Because the NFL season is short, check whether you're buying a monthly or a full-season plan, and cancel when the season ends.

  • Can an app predict NFL games accurately?

Against the spread, anything much above a coin flip over several seasons would be impressive, and very few public sources manage it. The market is sharp and each team plays only 17 regular-season games, so luck dominates short runs. Use an app to find information and compare lines, not as a machine that prints winners.

  • What features matter most in an NFL betting app?

Line shopping across sportsbooks, since half a point around 3 or 7 is worth a lot. Fast injury news, especially on quarterbacks. Line movement history, so you can see whether you've missed the best number. And a bet tracker. Picks come last on my list, because the first four help whatever you decide to bet.

  • Do NFL prediction apps cover college football?

Most of the US-focused ones do, since college football is a big betting market in its own right. Check the app's sport list in the store before you pay for a plan. Information on smaller college programmes is thinner, and lines move more, so treat model ratings for those games with extra care. The scores apps are reliable for both.
